Beautiful. Certainly not “hard” but not easy. Constant switchbacks to the front top. Incredible forest lushness, sounds, smells, mists and well maintained trail. There is no water, I brought three quarts split between myself and dog though there were a few trickle spots he got h2o from and a cooling lie down. 20 lb. pack. The last half which is all down, is a well graded compacted slightly graveled forest service road. Not that easy to walk on as the gravel is inconsistent in sized... Boring compared to the first 3.5 miles up the hill at the beginning, but still it was there so might as well. Not. One. Person, on the whole trail.
