An amazing gorge hike with several beautiful waterfalls, including one you can walk behind. This trail begins at Eagle Creek Campground and ends at Wahtum Lake. This is a nice out and back hike with great scenery of waterfalls, ferns, and rocky outcroppings. It's quite popular with easy vehicle access at the trailhead, so plan to see a lot of other hikers and is part of the Pacific Crest Trail. This hike is not far from Portland and is best in the spring or early summer to really appreciate the beautiful waterfalls.

Landslide and ice have taken out part of the trail. Right now (February) you'd need crampons and maybe an ice pick to make it past the first 1/4 mile. once the weather clears it might be passable again.

Beautiful hike and a must do for hikers visiting the PNW.

This was definitely a well rounded hike and I only went as far as punchbowl Falls! There is another waterfall further in but the suspension bridge to get there was out when I went. The snow and packed ice made this a bit challenging when trying to get to the bottom of punchbowl. We had to crab walk and bear crawl our way in and out. It felt like a real adventure!!

Beautiful trail! So many waterfalls along the route. Did a day this time. Planning on coming back to backpack the full trail.

Great hike from the trailhead to Tunnel Falls. The view is the same, except for the various falls that are passed. Quick short trails down to Punch Bowl Falls, but lots of people. Some narrow segments on cliff edges, but not dangerous unless shaky or wild. Tunnel Falls is the highlight—much more so than Punch Bowl in my opinion.

This is definitely a hike to put on your bucket list. One of the best hikes I have been on in the state. Has picturesque views of numerous falls and the river the entire hike to Tunnel Falls, App 14 miles round trip. Has some areas that require careful footing on cliff edges but does have cable support to hold onto while walking the edge. To avoid the crowds go on a week day and start early.
