Beautiful loop through the Eagle Cap Wilderness by circumnavigating Eagle Cap itself. The views are everywhere as you work your way up and down the glacial valleys and over three different mountain passes. Numerous lakes dot the Lake Basins area for some exploring. The trail here is very rocky for the majority of the trek and there is little shade along the route. Water is plentiful, however, so there is plenty of opportunity to fill your bladders or take a quick dip.

Completed this trail over four days, camping at the base of Horton pass, Little Frazier Lake, and Crater Lake. Weather was beautiful and there were virtually no bugs, with the exception of some bees around Crater Lake. The only real issue was dealing with some smoke on the 23rd. Coming down Little Kettle Creek through the lower switchbacks was extremely over grown with brush and there was almost as many piles of bear crap as there was switchbacks, but we didn't see any.
