Too crowded, everything cost money and every view is cluttered with tourist!

Snowshoed this trail with my Love. What an awesome hike in the winter. Met some great trail friends, but the trails during the winter are generally vacant. Skip the traffic and head up during the snow months. My favorite hike of all-time to date.

We were there on the 25th of May. unfortunately most of the trails are under snow and inaccessible but it is still worth it to go and see Crater Lake. Absolutely stunning! Have never seen water so blue! We just took a short walk on the cleared road past discovery point and there were a few good vistas. I would want to come back when the snow is gone and do more hikes around the lake!

Phenomenal views of the lake. We did this hike early in the morning right after some fresh powder so we had to work for it.

The Discovery Point trail is a short hike through woods with many views of Crater Lake. It's a nice starting point for a day of hiking in the park and provides the opportunity for viewing Crater Lake and Wizard Island without the crowds found at the Rim Drive overlooks.

The trail has some fairly steep climbs for a trail rated as easy. In the summer, the trail can be dusty, and portions of the trail are exposed to summer sun.
