This is a fun 11 mile bike ride with great views of Mt. Bailey and Mt. Thielsen. At times you ride right alongside the lake and other times you ride through the forest away from the lake. I rode this trail 5 times on a 8 day camping trip. At first the hills are a little bit challenging but you get used to them pretty quickly.
My 9 year old daughter and 7 year old son completed this ride several times through out the week.
The north west corner of the lake is swampy and infested with mosquitoes, and as long as you keep moving they can't get you but if you have to stop, they eat you alive. By myself the ride took 45 minutes. with my 9 and 7 year olds it took 2 hours.

Diamond lake is great anytime of the year. In the winter you can rent snowmobiles and ride the trails, in the sprint and summer you can walk, bike or ride 4 wheelers. There is great fishing, boat rentals, a great pizza place, the lodge and cabins. I was not happy with the hotel as it seemed old and smelled musty. The cabins are older but are kept up for the most part.
