Beautiful dog friendly trail following the river. Very muddy much of the way and patches of ice in areas. Pretty easy walk

Went with some local bend ladies, started at Meadow Day use Area, which no maps could provide me the starting point, we hiked to the Eddie... beautiful along the river, lots of wildlife. Amazing sunny day. 4/29/19

This part of the Deschutes is home to the rapid "Big Eddy" so this is a very busy part of the river with many guide rafts constantly running through. My only problem is I chose to do the run after some flooding rains and boy was Big Eddy BIG, I don't recommend running it with high waters. There are many rafting tours in Bend that run this as a 1-2 hour Deschutes River trip with Big Eddy as the Grand Finale!
