High-altitude single-track around and through the Newberry National Volcanic Monument. Newberry is an active volcano, meaning the last eruption was some time in the last couple thousand years. Some of the cool stuff includes cinder cones, lava flows, and a huge obsidian (volcanic glass) flow. One of the "signature" mountain bike trips in Central Oregon, this ride runs around and through the caldera comprising the main part of the Newberry National Volcanic Monument. The ride is physically challenging but not highly technical. The route is an easy day trip from Bend. There are multiple camping options nearby. Great views of the Cascades and surrounding desert await!

Nothing spectacular, just a good long day hike! We started by the little store and had about 17 miles of mostly uphill hiking before a 4 mile downhill. Views were hindered by smoke as well.
