I started at the Hampton and hiked up 37th left on Duane, right on 38th, right on Franklin, left on 34th take the trail at the end of 34th and right on Irving to the trailhead. The hike to the 300 year old spruce is great then continue on to the Column. I only saw 2 trail runners.

We love this trail. June 9, 2019- not as muddy as it sometimes is. Great for school-age kids, but not strollers. Beautiful, woodsy hike to the column.

A short but sweet trail with great views at the top! Be sure to bring your binoculars! The trail starts at CCC parking lot and goes up to the Astor column. There is a steady incline the entire way.

Views are spectacular from the column. For best results do this on a clear day.

It was a nice hike. Trail was muddy in areas, snowy in others, but still enjoyable. Not too strenuous and the weather was perfect.

A good little hike that has some elevation and navigating around tree roots. Not just an easy walking path. Parking is limited on the Irving Street side. But that is the way I would suggest to start. The reward at the top, with the Column and the vistas of the Columbia river, is well worth the climbing to get there!

This was a gorgeous hike. I just moved to this area from a very flat area of Texas, so some of the inclines were a little difficult for me, but mostly it was a fun and easy hike. I will definitely go back as there were many trails off the main one that I would like to explore.

This was a nice easy trail for family and I. My 3 and half year old was able to hike the majority of the trail while holding a grownups hand. It’s convenient to get to, you quickly feel like you are outside the city and the views from the column are amazing on a clear day.

Honestly, this trail is really amazing. While it may be an easy hike, it truly is a gem in Astoria. You can climb all the way up to the Astoria Column, or you can explore the various branch points in the trail. There are a few perpetually muddy spots, but they are easy to navigate around. I run this trail many times a week, and it never gets old. There are also edible oyster mushrooms hidden throughout! Great outdoor adventure for the young and old alike!

Neat hike to the top to see the Astoria column. Also a way to save the $5.00 parking fee! Steep incline with many tree roots. We hiked this and then did the 164 stairs to the top of column. Beautiful views.

Nice hike, mud isn't too bad and easy to avoid. The tree is neat and the column is really cool. Worth it to go to the top but can get crowded

Easy hike but the map at the trailhead says the trip will be longer than it is. Climb the column at the top when you get there.
