Historic Cape Mountain on the Oregon Coast. A nice relaxing hike up to a historic landmark at the summit. Keep an eye out for critters along the way and a great view back of the Pacific Ocean.

We took our two boys on this hike, 4 and 7 years old. They did great! They got tired at the end but it was our second hike of the day. Everything was beautiful to see and there we're markers here and there but someone sprayed white arrows on the path which made it easier to follow because there are a lot of trails you can take to make it a longer hike. Thank you for the arrows!!

Aka DryLake trailhead---hard to find trails, not well marked. Ended up taking old road up to Cape Mountain lookout, looked to be several trails on map.....would've liked to have found them. May try again. Pretty forest and ocean views.

We went following theses directions and ended up on a gravel road for a few miles that lead to a horse trail area. The loop goes straight up the hill, and obviously is designed for horseback riders. At the bottom was a rustic campground area that was full of litter. Obviously we turned around and came back.
