pretty muddy, but gorgeous! not really possible to get down to the beach from the end of the trail unless you are pretty strong/nimble and descend a very steep muddy cliff and climb back up with a small rope

Beautiful scenery and beautiful beach at the end. Be aware there are muddy areas— bring good boots or shoes that can get muddy. Had to do a little bit of climbing and crawling to get through some fallen trees, but overall I enjoyed it. My 65 year old parents came along and did okay with this trail.

Very muddy right now with a lot of downed trees. I turned around after coming across a particularity treacherous looking downed tree, obviously some people have been crawling around or over it but it seemed unsafe to attempt going over it, and I didn’t want to get covered in mud crawling under it. I ended up walking further down the closed road from the parking area and found a trail that lead to a beautiful overlook.

So fun! A bit of a scramble over (and under) some fallen trees. Also go at low tide so you can transition from the trail to the beach. So. Dang. Lovely. Even when the world’s on fire.

Started at the lake end of the washed out road closure. There's a small side trail off the road with a gorgeous view. Cape Mears beach trail has a large downed tree about half way that you must climb over or go under.

HikingGreat!

Great hike! Some obstacles along the way which add to the adventure. I gave it a 4 star because we got lost at the end of the trail. It was unmarked and too trails were created which pointed to the fact that several have been lost before as well. We made it out on the beach after getting on wild grass and thorny plants. If youre walking down make sure you stay on the left side of the creek that way you dont get lost. But the beach views made it all worth it. Saw starfish and clams on the rocks. It was beautiful!

Beautiful hike but definitely sketchy at a few points. We had to scramble over some large downed trees that had blocked the trail 3 times. I wouldn't take kids on it right now. The beach you get to is fine. Lots of rocks and seagulls. The hike back up gets your heart pumping because it's all back uphill but it's not too bad. The little .2 mile hike to the big Sitka Spruce is nice as well and at the same trailhead.

Great day for a hike. Trail to beach little overgrown in places. Local told us how to make it a loop back up to parking lot. Return trail much easier climbing back up grade.

The trail is open. It was a perfect day and hike. Definitely gets your heart rate up. wouldnt take kids under 8 unless they hike regularly.

Short hike that was greatly enjoyed with beautiful view of ocean! Be aware that when you get down to the ocean, you must use a rope to get to the water. Also, the shore is full of rocks, no sandy beach to lay out on. Lastly, be aware of muddy trail when it has rained.

Beautiful trail, with mud at the end when you scramble down to the beach. But it’s worth doing... and the beach is glorious
