As expected the trail is insanely muddy. It’s absolutely beautiful. I forgot to record the first half mile so my recording is off. Highly recommend. Easy trail. Has an option to go down to the beach.

Went mid December, very muddy sections with standing water and deep mud. Low elevation gain, easy to walk, perfect for beginners or the experienced hiker looking for incredible views.

Lovely hike. A lot of t exposed tree roots (trip hazards). Slippery rock in the winter. Beautiful views at the end. Not strenuous. Only a few short inclines.

great trail. easy hike but with many roots as mentioned by others. also pretty muddy when we did it in november which is also reported by other reviewers. I would like to comment that there are many giant old growth trees on this route that are worth seeing themselves along the way. views at the cape itself are spectacular. some small groves of trees on the bluff overlooking the ocean are good to watch large waves generated from storms crash onto the offshore rocks etc.

We did this hike in late Sept - it was very, very muddy in quite a few spots. There were a ton of roots as well so quite a bit of the hike is spent looking at the ground to watch your step. Don’t let this stop you from going though, because the views were well worth it along the way & at the top. We took both our dogs & they loved it - also a snack to have at the top.

Great trail. A few parts were super slippery so that was scary. But once you get to the top and see the view its definitely worth it.

Great hike on a gorgeous day. We were the first out to the cape on this day. What a view. Trail was dry except for a couple of spots. A lot of roots along the trail, so watch your step. Overall though, a super hike. Followed this hike with a climb up Neahkahnie Mountain, which is just down Hwy 101. Recommend this if you have the time.

Gorgeous trail, superb view at top, and yes, a multitude of tree roots, many elevated due to heavy trail use. Stay mindful - I didn’t and tripped on my way back down. At nearby urgent care they told me I was the second wrist fracture from that trail that week. This happened in August when it was dry, so recent muddy conditions will make it worse.

Beautiful, unique trail with great views throughout. Did this in late October and it was only a little muddy.

Gorgeous views on a sunny day. Fair warning that the mud on rocks makes it slippery on some of the downhill parts - I ended up lending a hiking pole to my friend so we could navigate it all upright

Beautiful trail! We started out by taking the paved path to Oswald West State Park and then entering the trail just off the beach access point. Yes, there were a few really muddy spots, but if you’re wearing boots, it’s not a problem. Multiple stopping points throughout to look out at the beautiful ocean scenery. Lots of little ups and downs to keep you interested. Favorite hike at the coast yet.
