Cape Arago Loop Trail is a 1.2 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Coos Bay, Oregon that offers the chance to see wildlife and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from February until October.
Note: A day-use or annual parking permit is required in this park. This trail has amazing views and you may see seals and sea birds. There is one steep up and down section.
This is a stunning easy hike. The coast line is amazing. We took our dogs, it IS dog friendly, they just cannot be in the gardens. The park itself has some paved trails also, good for people in wheelchairs to use. I wish this was an longer hike, I wanted to go on into infinity. So peaceful. We saw sea lions as well, a real treat.
Incredibly scenic! And, yes, you can bring your dogs! We asked because there are signs all over Shore Acres saying dogs aren't even allowed out of their car. They said dogs are allowed on the trails, but not in garden areas. We have an annual pass, but if you don't want to pay, I believe you can park at the area that says Lighthouse View (off Cape Arago Hwy) and start your walk from there. Not sure to classify this as a walk or a hike. It's not very strenuous, mostly flat with just a few stairs.
