Nice uphill to PCT from Lost Lake.

Done in late August - This trail was awesome! The weather was perfect, warm and sunny but the trail was shaded >95% of the time. Lots of trees and beautiful vistas. As others have mentioned, the last stretch up to the peak is overgrown so pants are definitely recommended but everything leading up to that on the PCT and from Lost Lake is clear and maintained. There’s not much room at the peak to sit but enough to enjoy the view and have a break. Overall 10/10.

We did this as an overnight backpacking trip. The cost to park at the campground overnight is $15, and there was a nice little store for food/coffee etc when we got back. Unfortunately, the trail was still covered in a ton of snow, and we weren’t able to make it all the way to Buck Peak because of this. I’d definitely return later in the summer, as the lake is beautiful and the trail had some good elevation with views.
