This is a great loop that starts out pretty steep for 2 miles, then levels off into a very flowy ridge trail. If you hike in late July, early August, there are a lot of wild flowers to be seen. 1. The actual trailhead for Buck Mountain Trail, starts near the cabin (through the gate). 2. When up on the ridge, it is really easy to lose track of the trail. At one point, there is a fork, stay to the left, and you will reach an old forest road, which had become over grown. 3. The end of Buck Creek trail (where Lake Creek Trail is supposed to connect to it, there are a lot of fallen trees, overgrown bushes and branches that are covering the trail.
