Easy Hike. Decided to make it a loop with the short use of the forest road. The lake is small but beautiful with the scenery. Not very many spots for lake access.
Nice short like around the lake and back. Good hike to start with if you haven’t hiked in awhile
Beautiful winter hike through second growth forest to peaceful Bloom Lake. Trail splits shortly before the lake - go right. Take the fallen tree "bridge" over the stream, continue to the road & go left. A short distance down on the left you can pick up the trail again to go around the lake & head back to the split.
Decided to continue on the trail to the road and pick up a little later for 3.3 total miles and make it a loop instead of out and back
This hike is more like a walk in the woods. The end of the trail is pretty muddy and hard to access the lake... not a huge fan of this hike but it would be a nice trail for people who don't want to run into anyone else, it was just my dogs and I when I went.
Not many people right now. Fun trail with lots of salamanders and birds
Bees on the trail made for an interesting adventure with a bunch of kids.
Pretty lake at the end! NOT "easy" as marked, but Moderate. It has a well-cleared path, somewhat rocky, some roots across, but the main difficulty is the 500ft elevation increase mostly in the first mile.
Wow, tons of salamanders and dragonflies at the lake! Great hike too. A small lollipop loop is possible at the end by turning left on the gravel road and watching out for another trail to the left.
Nice hike. Lots of bugs, but not really a bother. Slow going with a little one walking, but fun to see the salamanders.
The trail was pretty squishy and muddy, but if you managed to get to the lake there’s a peaceful place to have a picnic under the big tree. If your kiddos come along they will have tons of fun looking at the salamanders in the water. Definitely don’t bring your white dog tho...made that mistake, mud from head to toe lol
What a great trail! Lots of little salamanders on the trail, and a couple snails. Once you get to the lake there’s a log that goes out into the lake, you can walk on it. Look in the water… You’ll be surprised at how many salamanders you see! With all of that mind, watch your step on the trail! Beautiful hike!
