A series of loop trails at the Big Pine campground are short and easy to hike. The campground is large and clean and has a day use picnic area. The "big pine" is the second largest Ponderosa Pine in the USA and is located at the beginning of the loop trails. It's very impressive but according to the informative plaque, the large tree is in the twilight of its life. So get there soon. : )
