First the campground, This campground is very multi purpose so you have boaters, ATVers, campers and hikers up here therefore it can be rather noisey from all those motors that said. Still this campground is one of the most beautiful campgrounds I know of that I can take my 38' motorhome too. In another words the sites here are large! For this reason I love this campground as a base for the many wonderful hikes in the area including Patjens Lakes, Pacific Crest Trail, Mt. Washington and countless others. When it comes to trails you have many choices in the area but here's a secret place......Most of the crowds do the 7 mile Patjens lake loop starting counter clockwise, what they don't know is there is a much closer lake just off the trail that's hidden in the trees. Taking the Patjens Lake trail with a GPS unit go South untill your unit takes you straight East on down a hill just go down it and you will come to this hidden jewell. Here are the coords N 44 22.439 W 121 53.599 I included a picture of the small lake in the review.
