Great short trail that leads to lovely views. Can keep walking along the path if you want to make the trail longer. It is an out and back trail. Suitable for jogging strollers.

Worked well for our 1 1/2 year old to walk some and be in the stroller for some of the trek. There is a little area for kayakers to get out of the water at the parking lot. Could probably wade in there and splash around a bit after the hike.

Beautiful trail along the Deschutes River. Relatively flat. Great for families. We brought our golden retriever. We found a couple of small spots along the river that were calm enough to let him grab a drink, and let him lay in the water to cool down.

Stroller friendly! Great trail! We weren’t certain about parking though. We created a parking spot near the railroad tracks and jumped on the trail!!

Easy trail with a fabulous surprise at the end!! If you Go a bit further than the trail shown in this app you will see more of this spectacular falls which extends much further down river than you would think. Saw an otter by the bridge.

I'm not sure I would consider this a "hike", but it was a beautiful sight to see. There is a wide path where you can walk and bike that runs along the side of a river until you come to the rapids. Dogs are allowed on leash, and this would be a good one for kids.

Easy, wide, fairly level trail with great foliage and nice river views.

Great wide trail that made it easy for small kids and a dog. We definitely held small hands when we got close to the falls area to look down, but most of the trail is safe for kids

Quick easy hike. Beautiful river views

Pretty good view of the falls at the end. would have liked to go out on the rocks of the overhang however I had pups with me. so next time. I was told this was a moderately traveled trail but on Sunday afternoon in May, it was PACKED! A lil too many other dogs for my yappy pup, a bit of anxiety from all sides. We did find a trail off the main trail that gave us some solitude and some good exploring. LOTS of people.

Really gorgeous views of the river while heading to the falls, especially when combined with the colors of autumn. It was an easy hike so poles aren't really needed. I'd never seen a falls where it does a 90 degree turn - Loved it.

Pretty walk under trees and along the river (try your luck with poles and rodes with artificial lures). *There is another parking lot closer to the falls. Falls are more what I consider class 4 - 5 rapids. I was a bit disappointed. It was also hard to find a good place to take pictures.

This is a fantastic 3mile round trip hike. It is beautiful all along the trail and you are rewarded with several spots to view the fabulous deschutes rapids. If you are hiking, be mindful of mountain bikers on the trail, as this is a popular spot for biking as well. The trail is easy walking and there is a pit stop right before heading towards the falls. Perfect for a break or a spot to eat lunch or a snack. Enjoy this amazing hike and all the beauty Central Oregon has to offer.

Beautiful, easy trail. Nicely groomed. A few too many mosquitoes. Love that you can get there from Sunriver.

Nice walk. The trail needs to be marked better. Don’t leave main trail by taking trail along river as it ends suddenly.Learned the hard way. Surprised there is not much traffic on the trail from Sunriver. River views are awesome. .

This was a great flat hike. As others have said it is busy, so if you are looking for quiet alone time this is not the hike for you. My kids did great, loved the bridge (ages 11 and 3). Next time I think we will take our bikes.
