Beautiful, easy trail. Nicely groomed. A few too many mosquitoes. Love that you can get there from Sunriver.

Easy out and back to beautiful fast flowing rapids (falls). Got too late of a start to go any further.

Nice walk. The trail needs to be marked better. Don’t leave main trail by taking trail along river as it ends suddenly.Learned the hard way. Surprised there is not much traffic on the trail from Sunriver. River views are awesome. .

This was a great flat hike. As others have said it is busy, so if you are looking for quiet alone time this is not the hike for you. My kids did great, loved the bridge (ages 11 and 3). Next time I think we will take our bikes.

Perfect quick easy hike with amazing views. If you don't have all day to spend hiking but still want an outdoorsy Oregon experience this is the trail for you. Raging waters, beautiful flowers and wildlife all around. We loved it

Great hike. We wanted a shorter easier hike and we got it. It was dry and flat unless you walked closer to the water. The water is flowing very swiftly. It is a wonderful view of the falls. We went on a Saturday so it was moderately busy. The trail is very family friendly.

The walk to Benham Falls from the small parking lot is very easy. We did it with a toddler in a backpack and two children who are 8 and 10.

There are others using the wide trail and I didn't find it bothersome or too many people, but we went during the middle of the week on an overcast day. There are dogs who are off leash and I'm not sure what the laws are in Sunriver about dogs off leash, but it's something to be aware of if you like to hike with your dogs.

As you get nearer and nearer to the falls, you begin to hear them through the trees. Nothing, and I do mean nothing, can prepare you for what you are about to see.

While they aren't your typical "falls" (more like rapids), the sheer power of this bend in the Deschutes, will take your breath away.

One word of warning: you can stand right on the edge of the rapids that make Benham Falls. I would highly encourage you to keep a close eye on your children here. There is a very high likelihood that if someone were to fall in here, they would die.

Easy out-and-back day hike, with one mile, three mile and several longer options, should you decide to make it a longer hike. Beautiful scenery the entire way, including lava flows, forests, and of course waterfalls!

Great space to walk in. Is quite popular and can be a bit crowded. The falls are quite nice. Very relaxing. Good place for hikers of all ages. When we were there, a bus load of "mature" hikers came out. We spoke to them for a while and they were loving being out for a bit of exercise.

Great hike for all types of walkers. I've done it in the middle of summer--watch out for the speeding bike riders; we almost got a front tire in the chest because a rider was flying around a corner! Other than the inconsiderate cyclists and the dog poop along the trail, it's great!
Just completed a wonderful trek April 4th, 2013 and met only a handful of hikers and two cyclists and one dog-still a lot of dog poop. So sad they don't clean up after their animals.
We were walking at leisurely pace, stopped to have lunch at the eddy. My pedometer said we hiked a total of 5.75 miles when we returned to the Benham Falls boat take-out parking lot.
At our leasurely pace and the lunch break we took, our hike was a little over 2 hours. We headed back because of rain.
