A pleasant little hike or bike from Sunriver and back.

The distance is off on this app. This trail(paved) from the parking spot on East Cascade was 1.5 miles to the walking bridge. we locked up our cruisers there and walked(dirt) another .5 mile to the falls. we could have stayed on our bikes, but it was nice to give our bums a rest. The falls were not a typical fairytale waterfalls. they were more like a gushing angry whitewater. Impressive in their own way. A nice outing from Sunriver.

Took the single track out and back to benham. Great for a 12 yr old first time single track rider and adults looking for a easy dirt trail.

Most of this trail is through the woods and not as close to the river as I would have liked. However, it was pretty and the falls at the end are impressive.

Very nice trail once you hit the river, The Falls have great view points once you get there. Not much elevation at all but made for a good workout being 7 miles. Probably a better mountain bike/ Running trail IMO is the only reason for 4 stars.

Great trail! Ran it with two others and my dog. 3.5 out, 3.5 back, we took the forestry road out and ended up running a half mile past Benham Falls, so not sure this distance is accurate. But still super fun!

We took this trail yesterday with cruising bikes, (not ideal for trail riding) and had no trouble! It's an easy, paved trail most of the time, a few gradual, longer inclines, but manageable. It eventually turns into a dirt path before the falls, but still very manageable. The river views start out with wide, calm waters and eventually narrow into powerful, raging glory. So beautiful. I think the river was extra full and glorious from snow melt this week. Highly recommend.

Wife and I hit it together not much traffic on it. Great easy trail to clock some miles on. Definitely recommend.

Missed the dirt on the way out, but took it on the way back and loved it. Great running trail with some pretty views. Highly recommend this!

Awesome trail run from SR. Did it with 2 inches snow on the ground in 20 degree weather and the scenes were amazing. the beginning of the trail isn't really marked very well so the Alltrails map was handy.

Nice, easy trail. Early on is through the woods, then the river, with a great payoff at the end with the falls. First couple miles is fairly isolated, then the last mile has more people from those who parked closer to the falls.

Took my family of 5 on this trail. A 5, 7 and 12 year old. They're stronger riders than average kids but shows the relative ease of the trail. Very little elevation change was also nice for the kiddos. Lots of shade as the trail meanders through the trees. Good ride!

Lovely winding trail along the Deschutes. Admittedly I have a bit of a bias because this was my first MTB trail ever, but it remains one of my favorite for flowy XC. You can connect this with the rest of the Deschutes trail to get all the way from Sunriver to Bend.

Went on a beautiful, sunny summer day and this trail was beautiful. Though it was way too easy. However the ease of this trail males it excellent for families and people of all ages. The road of the rapids and falls was astounding and even that sound in itself is worth the trip.

The paved path is nice, the dirt trail is even better. Love having both options.

Horrible. They have black topped it, and cut down all the tree cover. It makes for terrible walking, running and dog walking. We were very, very disappointed that they ruined a great trail.

Great little place to go. We took our bikes as the forest service has blacktopped a trail from Lava Butte to Benham Falls to Sunriver. Easy rolling hills. Nice day out. If you ride, park the vehicle at Lava Butte and ride to Sunriver. While at Sunriver, you can get a bite to eat (south end - little farther ride) before heading back. Enjoyable Sunday afternoon activity.

Easy trail with wonderful river views winding through ponderosa pine. I agree with Eric that it was 6 miles round trip if you went to Benham Falls which is a worthy treat .

A nice little easy and mellow hike, especially if you're staying in Sunriver. As an out-and-back, it's more like 6 miles including the short walk up to the falls. It starts-out as just a walk in the high desert trees and brush out of the north side of the Sunriver Resort, but soon enough you find yourself in some really nice scenery along the banks of the Deschutes as you make your way to the falls. Now, the falls are a bit anticlimactic; that is, don't expect an epic waterfall 100ft in height. Nevertheless, the bridge and setting around the falls are great. People can drive straight-in to Benham falls (rather, .3 miles below them) so don't expect this little hike to be free from people or pavement. Still, a great little trek that anyone could handle and something you should do if you find yourself in Sunriver.

Nice little ride from Sunriver, not to hard but gets the blood pumping. There can be some very inexperienced riders heading from the resort area to the river that probably should stick to the USFS roads. Still, not as crowded as I thought and a great little ride.

First half of trip is pretty flat through the forest once you get near the river there is a lot of lava rock in the trail.
