Used the road the entire way. Thought about doing the loop, but it was definitely too muddy to make that happen. Great trail with a pretty brutal hill at the end!

Great views and good shade. There’s a watering hole near the trailhead, so bring a suit and dive in after. This is an extensive trail system. If anyone says there aren’t great views, maybe they wandered onto a different trial without realizing it...

8/8/20: Not many views at all, but a descent workout! My eight year old did it, so it’s doable.

The few views you get were pretty cool but hardly a Trail I would visit again or recommend to others. Was also a good workout on the incline but other than that, unremarkable.

Good hike but not much for views other than beautiful trees. Trail offers lots of shade. Lots of traffic and watch out for mountain biker trail crossings.

This trail can only be moderate if you’re not used to hike at all. I took this trail and Ashland Loop to come back to the parking lot due the one-way trail implemented in Ashland trail system. It’s a nice and calm hike. Not much to see.

Casual short hike with moderate elevation gain. Watch out of poison oak!

I love this trail, and usually use it as the beginning of a loop, which you can make if you take Bandersnatch to Snark. Snark finishes up where Banadersnatch began. About 3 miles if you add the distance from and to the parking area up the road. Today it was pretty snowy on the higher up parts, and kind of slick on the steeper downhills. But gorgeous and fun as always!

For an easier drive up than the narrow dirt road in Glenview as the directions say, just take Granite St up to the reservoir and turn left on Glenview to get to the parking area. Nice trail for grownups—we had 6 kids ages 2-8 and the 2 and 3 year olds were carried most of the way. Wear good grippy shoes as the trail can be dusty and slippery where steep. The picnic table is .7 miles up with some peek-a-boo views, and a great turnaround place for kids.

Uphill going, downhill coming back. 3 miles out and back. The trail goes all the way to the Alice and Wonderland Trail. You can keep going and loop back around in Ashland Loop Rd for a 6 miler.
