Very pleasant day hike or Mountain biking. Trail has a nice mix of sun and shade, mixed forest, with good views of the lake and several places to go swimming. First time hiking was good. After passing some bear scat on the trail, we did find ourselves within 30' of a black bear cub about a mile in, back tracked a bit, made a LOT of noise, then returned. Never saw mama, or the cub again. We returned on mountain bikes, with bells attached, and this trail is a blast! BUT we ran into a bear cub again, which ran up a tree about 10' off the trail! This time right around 7 miles in, shortly after passing bear scat again... Beat a hasty retreat and called it a day, I'm beginning to think this trail is dangerous... but dang is it fun to ride.
