A wonderful little loop trail with interesting juniper growths, and basalt/lava formations. lots of sand, but that also meant sand lilies all over on the ground when we went.

Well marked trail. Sandy trail with some rocks and roots. Easy walking. Some very interesting old twisted juniper trees.

The trail begins with a split left or right, clockwise seems to be the typical flow choice for visitors. Trail is wide, which is great for my dog with a poor attitude, we are able to get off trail easily all along the way as well. Visibility of the trail ahead seems to be helpful, knowing when another is approaching, giving time. No truly outstanding views, just your typical Central Oregon indigenous desert life, sage brush, juniper trees, ants hustling across trail ways. Sparse trail shade, easy terrain with a few roots and rocks to step over, hit or miss in popularity. I saw a school bus of hikes on the trail yesterday. Happy hiking.

Great easy trail. Close to Bend. Lots of great wildflowers June-July. I was there today, July 2, 2019. Fabulous wildflowers in assorted colors. Trail is easy to hike. Not overrun by people.

Really nice easy trail close to town. Good alternative when cascade lake trails are snowed over. Loved the open views.

The hike follows an old road/Jeep trail. As you hike through old junipers you are serenaded by the lovely sound of traffic from Highway 20. Not sure how this came to be designated wilderness? It has definitely been trammeled by man. Not much in the solitude department here either. Please pick up your doggie waste bags. Leaving trash behind in the form of dog feces in plastic bags is a good way to get dogs banished from a trail system our furry friends enjoy as much as we do!

It’s a nice loop, nothing too challenging, but a nice stroll for late fall/early winter-

Easy to follow trail. No real change in scenery or elevation but a fun little ~3 mile loop
