Just attempted to get to Alta Lake from the Seven Lakes Trailhead and was unable to due to snow at this time of year, early June. We were able to make it to Frog lake and about a mile up from there. Mosquitos weren't too bad surprisingly. Plus the drive to the trailhead was mostly paved. Great day trip, but will try again later in the summer.
