Medicine Park Black Trail Loop is a 2.5 mile lightly trafficked loop trail located near Medicine Park, Oklahoma that features a great forest setting and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and mountain biking.
Great hike! You can walk to the trailhead from Medicine Park. Saw a lot of tire tracks so I'm certain lots of people mountain bike it as well. Didn't take long (maybe 30 minutes) to get to the top of the hill, with a bench and great view of Mt. Scott, so it's satisfying from the beginning. Trail continues into more forest-y areas. Saw deer and rabbits. We were able to do the trail easily with our dog. I think kids could complete it as long as they had sufficient water and breaks. The trail is mostly granite rock and packed dirt. Trail markers were very easy to follow.
