Nice trails. I took the main one over to the Wilson Loop, which is their “difficult” trail, down into a ravine and back. It involves some elevation loss/gain and some minor scrambling on rocks, but I wouldn’t call it difficult for a decent hiker. But don’t do it if you have bad knees or ankles or heart. I thought it was a fun hike. The place is remote, but since they are only open certain Saturdays, it was fairly crowded. If you want solitude, that’s not what you’ll get here. You’ll actually get more on one of the less used trails at Turkey Mtn. But it is pretty here and looks very different than Turkey. I feel like there is more wildlife here too. A few spots where u can get a decent view of Keystone Lake. Helpful docents, and they are building a visitor center.

Lovely trail. Wilson loop is difficult and could use a few more markers, but fun!

This is a great trail! The trails are well marked and maintained. The trail less traveled was a little confusing to find but once I did it worked out great! There are information about the history of the area and the Osage people that lives here. Very interesting

This place is great! Trails for all levels! But then you need a sign pointing how to get to the “trail less traveled”? It gets a bit confusing.

Walking

Great trail, this trail is in an open canopy so there’s lots of sun. So when it’s hot outside, it’s really hot. Also make sure to tuck your pants into your socks, your shirt into your pants and spray your neck and head with bug spray, there are lots of ticks. Enjoy!

I gotta say for such a highly guarded area (it was only open one day this month), I was a little disappointed. The trail is mostly very flat and has very few worthwhile views of the water. We got there roughly as early as we could coming from OKC, and the parking lot was already completely full. Far and away the best section of the hike is the Southwestern loop (marked the "Wilson Trail" and not listed on the park maps). It had pretty steep elevation changes, but beautiful rock/ravine scenery that looked out onto the water. Hardly anyone was on this trail, and there were several rock croppings perfect for sitting down and eating lunch to enjoy the views.

Hiking

My mother, aunt, and I did the Less Travelled trail at Keystone Ancient Forest. The trail itself was great. There were rocky sections and for most of the trail it was up and down hill. The trail itself is only 4.1 miles but we had to hike a short section of another trail from the parking lot to get to the trail head and the trail ends on the fire access road( which you have to walk on to get back to the trail head and back to the parking lot). The trail was well maintained, all the trails are clearly marked, and there are mile markers every .1 mile along the trail. We did get a few ticks crawling on us. Recommend getting there early on the days they are open because at the end of our hike the parking lot was packed. Overall, had a great time.
