Inspiration Point Loop is a 5.8 mile heavily trafficked loop trail located near Watonga, Oklahoma that features a lake and is rated as moderate. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
Offline map recommended. Users have reported that the trail is not marked well.
Awesome day at Roman Nose. It was overcast, so no sunshine to enjoy, but great nonetheless. Trails are always well maintained and always super enjoyable. Nothing too difficult, so it’s good for kids and pets(on leashes). Love coming here. Highly recommended.
You will want a map with you to make all the right turns. We went a few weeks after a snow storm and the melting snow made for a very muddy trail. We had fun though.
The trail is listed as being 5.8 miles but you can hike directly to Inspiration Point and back at just over 3 miles if you don't want to do the whole trail. I'd agree with an earlier review that listed this as being on the easy side of moderate but there are a couple steepish climbs. The markings are adequate but downloading the trail on the AllTrails app can be helpful.
It’s been awhile since I’ve been here. They have drastically improved the trail markings since I was last here and it’s great! Love this trail.
Beautiful hike that I would consider to be on the lighter side of moderate. Pretty muddy at this time of year, so my shoes were pretty filthy by the end of it.
Easy to follow and well-marked. The inspiration point side is not too steep and the view is worth it. The switchback loop side has a few steep spots, but nothing crazy. Very enjoyable trails.
Wide open at times. Well marked and well travelled. Saw some wildlife.. rabbits birds and humanoids.
Path is well worn and wasn’t very busy. Nice view at Inspiration Point.
Keep ur kids and dogs on a leash. The trail is clear but many times catus is on both sides of the trail. Also 50 to 100’ drop offs in a few places. Nice views though.
Had a wonderful time hiking for the first time in many years. I’m 73 and my wife is 71. We are both in good shape. We did get lost on way back (no signage on trials) but that only added to the enjoyment of the venture. Now looking through AllTrails to find more places to hike.
Fun fall hike, trail well maintained, great views. Technical in areas with moderate to steep inclines. Some parts lacked shade for awhile so bring plenty of water.
There are 2 Trailheads 1. Right near the lodge, you will see a partition and picnic table, the other is at the General Store. Nice trail, I saw all ages on the trail. Happy Hikers
