Indian Nature Trail is a 2.4 mile lightly trafficked out and back trail located near Broken Bow, Oklahoma that features a lake and is rated as moderate. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
Quick little trail that runs along side of Broken Bow Lake. Mostly uphill on the way in, which makes for a pleasant and brisk downhill walk back. There and back trail that is worth the work. Plenty of beautiful views of the lake and marina! :)
Trail was easy to follow until about .9 miles in. Refer to AllTrails to get you past that point. There are a few marked trees. Not well maintained, but still nice. We saw two bald eagles and their nest. It was easy with our 8 and 6 year old boys.
Nice hike. Uphill quite a ways. Got the blood pumping quick. Did find some mistletoe.
The trail is pretty overgrown for the last 1/4 of the hike. Still recommend it if you like more of an uphill lookout and easy downhill path. Nice view of the marina and lake. Easy access from the road and good parking.
First part of the trail was flat and open 1/4 in trees down and weed high small trail towards end with tall grass but a nice woods and shade trail with deer and big woodpeckers.
Moderate difficulty trail for not that much when it comes to views. Nice walk through the forest, but steep incline in and steep decline back out. We were there in December so the trees had thinned out enough to see parts of the lake but mostly you just see the marina. If you're going for a slightly strenuous walk in the woods, this trail is great. If you want views of the lake, pick another trail.
Needs to be remarked. Largely overgrown without food views of the marina.
Awesome trail! Within about a quarter mile we jumped up two Doe that were bedded down. Later on we heard two beautiful Bald Eagles that we’re roosted in a tall pine tree! Such a great experience! It stormed last night so it was night and quiet and no one was on the trail with us! Definitely doing this trail again!
Nice high trail along ridge of hills along the lake. Parking lot right before dam overlook. This trail was less buggy than our morning hike and had a lot of uphill sections from the start. Like another hiker posted, we'd mark it moderate rather than easy due to the stamina needed. Older hikers with bad knees would want a staff for leverage. Some sections were quite grassy and we ended up w a lot of chiggers on us and our dog. My husband picked up some ticks as well despite OFF spray. The trail goes on quite a bit farther than the ALLTrails map so when you reach the long descent ,after the flat wooded clearing, turn around unless you want more exercise (keep in mind you'll need to climb back up on the return) Also note that Beavers Lodge trail may be two sections. We did the trail that starts west of the parking lot next to spillway. However we noticed there is a one way trail on official park maps with same name that follows the river south below the spillway and ends at start of Skyline Trail. A map indicates there is trailhead parking at both ends of the southern Beavers Lodge.
