A stroll down the old Katy Railroad bed and out over Lake Keystone A nice hike along the old MKT rail road bed. You can make this a short hike or a 6 mile out and back depending on where you start. There are two trail heads to choose from. Along the way you will see common NE Oklahoma trees and cedars. And great views of the Lake and Osage Hills. Lots of bird activity to be seen as well. In the Fall, Winter, and Spring you can see numerous waterfowl and wintering bald eagles! There is a short spur you can visit on the north side of the trail where you can see an old road that once served Cleveland. It is now under water from the Keystone Lake. All the way to the end of the trail you can visit an old abandoned rail bridge. Walk it on your own risk. You don't have to worry about an on coming train but a false step could really injure a leg or toss you off into the lake. Sadly they never built the trail east into the old town of Osage. Maybe one day it will be completed.

Currently blocked due to construction. It looks as if it will be available again after the construction is complete.

They have blocked off the area where the railroad was and paved it. They are working on making it passable again but it doesn’t look so pretty now. Easy, paved walk and the dogs liked it.

City walking path with nice foliage and views of the river.

I love hiking this path. Lots of wildlife and river views. Very level. There is a very smelly section due to a treatment plant but other than that it's great for biking and hiking.

Nice hike. I walked the portion going southeast from the round pavilion. (I made a false start on the nature trail nearby.). On the MKT trail heading toward the railroad trestle you can look out over a part of the lake and river with great views of wading birds. I saw a great white egret and a great blue heron. I also saw a beaver or muskrat lodge. I walked out on the trestle maybe a third of the way to the end. I got spooked and turned around when the wind picked up. By myself and no phone service and too easy to misstep and break a leg. A previous reviewer mentioned no warning signs but there was a concrete barrier today so you can’t accidentally ride s bike off the end into nowhere.

Too short for a good bike ride. It ends at a dangerous abandoned trestle with no signage. The destination is on the left, not the right. It is quiet and scenic in places but poorly maintained.

We just walked one half of the trail. This is definitely the best trail in this area. Pretty well kept and even shady during parts of the day. The half that we walked included a "turtle" bridge, and rest benches.

It was amazing. Peaceful. Bridge lacks some pieces so be careful!

It's a very easy trail, clean and clear of debris. The bridge at the end is nice for catching a nice breeze. Very little shade so just be careful to bring enough water on hot days.
