Nice trail

Hiked the trail on May 25, 2019. A nice trail with lake views all along the trail. There were a few areas where downed trees required a little detour and on this date there were a few very muddy areas on the trail. Our family camped at Cedar Lake and hiked it together with ages from almost 3 years to almost 60 years throughly enjoying the hike.

In early fall the campground was eerie and still with a beautiful view of the lake surrounded by oak and cedar covered mountains. Poison ivy everywhere on the trail. Still a nice way to spend the day here.

Beautiful in the fall

After a solid 24hr rain, the trail was in great condition. Camping at cedar lake so access was at my front door. Scared a four foot snake into the water at one spot on the east side.

My brother and I walked this trail on a cool Fall day when the leaves were still turning and it was very pretty! The trail was well-marked with white stripes painted on some of the trees and there were at least two places along the trail with flush toilets! We were there on a Monday and although we saw many campers, we only saw one other person on the trail. It is my opinion, if you go hiking here, bring water, snacks, your camera, and a walking stick.

We camped in the Cedar Lake area in late October over a weekend and did this trail on Saturday. Although the park itself was packed, the trail was pretty empty. Beautiful views throughout the trail, varying terrain but not strenuous. About three miles total overall. We crossed several little bridges and passed several spots with access to the lake. A small part of the trail was a nature trail with informational signs about wildlife and plantlife in the area.
