The 5 mile climb to the top of Cavanal Hill is an intense climb. Participants will gaining 1500' altitude with an average gradient of 8%, some sections tilting upward at 14%. I wanted a nice hard hike to complete today, and this was not what I was looking for. I did not even start this 'hike'. It is a paved road that starts through a neighborhood and you see houses a long the way. It is also very scary. There are cars that are zooming by you and if you get to the top it is even scarier since there are bends that very extreme. Do not hike, or run this trail unless it is that event that is held every year in may were they close off the road and it is for a charity. This is not a hike but a walk through a steep gradient neighborhood with dangerous conditions.
