Wire Grass Lake is a 0.6 mile lightly trafficked loop trail located near Toledo, Ohio that features beautiful wild flowers and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
Wonderful find! Explored this park today and was pleasantly surprised at what the Toledo Metro Park System has to offer. This lake is available for kayaks and canoes. You can reserve one of three tent campsites as well as fishing off the bank. Want a family day? There is a shelter with picnic tables and BBQ available. Very nice area. Accessibility: This packed dirt, gravel, and mowed grass trail is estimated to typically be at least 5 feet wide. The slope is flat to gentle and estimated to range from -1% (downhill) to 2% (uphill) grade. There may not be ADA-compliant car parking at the small unpaved trailhead lot.
Nice to walk or mountain bike, not suitable for road bike. Surface is dirt/grass. Moseley trail that connects Wiregrass like to Secor Metropark, and the Brown trail at Secor are both suitable for most bikes other than narrow tired road bikes. These trails have fine crushed stone-surfaces.
I connected this run through the Mosley trail not listed on the app from Secor Park. Very nice & well maintained. It's mostly light gravel biker friendly. This would be a far hike for an amateur so have water ready.
