Love this trail. Add the wilderness trail loop for a longer hike. Great variety in wooded features, I nice creek and natural springs.
I wanted a longer hike so parked at the interactive building, took path to the left of parking lot, down passed ponds and just kept going. can loop back to building or keep hiking which eventually connects to the pioneer trail. Hiked 3.5 miles in 1.5 hr. Some hills, some rocky areas, some grassy paths but nothing of extreme difficulty. All paths were clear of debris and dry at the time of my hike.
Great trail. A little muddy today (5-28-18) but not horrible. Mostly dirt path but a few spots are rocky so definitely only for older children and adults. About 2.3 mile loop from parking lot. Very shaded with lots to see. Mushrooms for days.
