It was a pretty nice day to take on this little hike. I got around to the part of the loop where alot of people were commenting about how it turned into a swamp, it wasn't today. We've had a few consecutive weeks where it's been below freezing so everything was nice and iced over. The only negative thing I would say about this trail is that there are a few parts where there really isn't a trail at all that I could find. I ended up hiking through waist high reeds to stay on track with some of this trail. I also did a little exploring on my own so my recording won't be 100% accurate. On the way back I deviated a bit to get some pictures, but yet again when I attempted to get back on the trail according to AllTrails, it would have had me going back through tall reeds, bushes and trees where there wasn't even a remotely visible trail. I just followed the hiking signs and I made my way back just fine. Who ever recorded this trail to AllTrails didn't stay on the path so it is not accurate or at least it isn't now.

Halfway through, it ends in a swamp. Even in the middle of winter nothing was frozen so I tired to walk around if. Finally got around it and tried to get back on track, but no signs of the trail. I wouldn’t not want to do this trail any other time due to being eaten alive by mosquitos and tick.

This would have been a 4 star trail for me except that once you get to the boardwalk the trail is completely impassable. It’s well maintained up until that point and great for kids, but after the boardwalk it is about a foot of mud/water and really overgrown.

Completely impassable on much of the trail. Markings are buried in a swamp and it is nearly impossible to see where the trail goes.

Trail was not very well maintained. A lot of flooding about 1/3 the way through- not passable

Still not passable...the parts of the trail that aren’t flooded or cover with shin deep mud are very poorly maintained.

The hike was good besides the inland half being flooded and the trail being overgrown and unmaintained in parts

Lots of flooding unless on the beach trail. beach trail has lots of poison ivy/oak in narrow areas. beach views at sunset are amazing though!

The trail along Lake Erie was flat with a few short rocky sections. The view of the power and sail boats on the lake is enjoyable. The inland trails had sections that were ankle deep in water. There was no posted signs at the trail head notifying hikers that the trail was impassable. The sections of the trail that were not under water were wide and nicely mowed. The wildlife next to the trails was plentiful.

This trail is absolute garbage! They'll post social distancing signs everywhere but none to tell you that this trail is flooded out a mile into it. Don't waste your time
