Overall, a nice morning hike. This trail is actually a series of three trails at West Branch but they all combine to make a long loop. I went on a Sunday morning and was the ONLY person. Did not come across anyone else the entire time. If you’re concerned about social distancing however, the trail is very narrow so that may be hard. I also wore bug spray but even without it I don’t think it was too buggy. Starting at the edge of the parking lot and going clockwise, the green and red trail had the most beautiful views. You’re right along the edge of the lake for a mile or so before it starts to get woody. Even being right near the shore, the trail provided lots of shade throughout. I think these two colored trails are accurately ranked as moderate, but at the low end. However, once crossing the road to get the the brown trail, I got confused. There were two entrances to the trail even though only one was marked. I somehow ended up on the leg closest to the road rather than the top section that leads you into the blue. The section I took was definitely easy. Basically just a stroll through the woods. Maybe if I took the correct brown and into the blue it might have been better? Couldn’t give it 5 stars because it wasn’t quite what I was expecting for a moderately ranked hike. I’ll definitely be back to do the full loop however now that I know where I went wrong.

I kind of don’t want to rate this one high so it can stay as isolated as it was today, but it was exactly what I was looking for today. In the woods with beautiful views of water. Not a lot of signage but it seems like all the trails end back up with each other so it wasn’t a big deal.

I think this is about as perfect as a trail could get. it's challenging in parts it's easy and others, the scenery is fantastic. The views of the lake or absolutely gorgeous. there's places you scramble up and places you scramble down, climb over trees and tree bridges. I saw a beautiful dear step right in front of me and walk away. I even didn't mind hearing everybody on the lake having fun and laughing while they were boating and jet skiing. it kind of made me smile. I will absolutely be back here for everything this lake has to offer.

Pretty hike... along the water and through the woods. Not too muddy, tonight but I am sure if you go after it rains it would be a little messy. The kids really enjoyed the trip!

Trail was in great condition. The second bridge has a tree down on it. You can still get through but it’s fallen directly on it and has not been cut up yet. Muddy in spots but overall not to bad!

This is a beautiful trail, but I’d wait until several days after the last rain before doing it again. It was a mud pit.

Lots of trees down across the path. Really muddy, but beautiful views of west branch reservoir. Great spring hike.

Our dog loves this trail only saw two people the whole time, but I recommend staying on the lake side of the road for hiking. Much less muddy. Deer Run was impossible. Lots of ramps! Yum!

Nice trail to wander through a hard wood forest. Blow downs were mostly cut. Some bridges and gravel but muddy in low spots

Took my dog out for a morning hike and fell in love with the park. The portion of the trail south if the road is gorgeous and a fun walk by the lake. The trails north of the road are nice but the Deer Run Trail portion is a mess for days after a good rain. The park provides a good mapping system that is fairly easy to follow.

Great trail and scenic views. See quite a bit of flora and fauna. The sheer value of fungi growth is intriguing as well. A nice short semi-challenging loop.

You can park near the camp office. The loop trail starts at point "A" between the parking lot and the camp office on the north side of the road. Each point is marked well. You have a great chance of seeing deer on this trail. I've hiked it several times and seen deer almost every time.
