Very pretty, winds through the woods and then along a river. Hiked in late January, it was quite muddy at points, a bit of snow. The stairs toward the end were somewhat icy.

Super muddy even after days without rain. Heavy traffic on the first and last sections. The middle section is poorly marked and sees little traffic. Some spots along the river are nearly washed out.

This trail is beautiful with varying landscapes and awesome views. As said before, the trail markings are not great.

There are plenty of trails that break off and intersect with this one. I ended combing a few different ones to make a roughly 4 mile hike. The first third of the my hike was well marked and trafficked. I took a right turn by the small lake then looped all the way back to the main trail. After I took the right, I didn't see another person until I was back at the parking lot. It definitely narrows down to a small poorly marked path that's heavily covered in leaves so pay attention as it's easy to wander off trail. Down the by creek the path was washed away so I had to move through a couple inches of water about 8 feet across. Towards the end you can take a stair case down to the river and follow some unmarked, rough paths into the small ravine. It was sad to see a lot of the beautiful natural rock in there was covered in spray paint/graffiti :(

As everyone else said, the trail isn’t well marked and this trail uses several different names throughout. I’m still not entirely sure if I did the correct loop despite using my phone as a guide, but my pup and I had a lovely walk. The leaves were near peak about a week ago, sun was out. Lots of folks on the trails but not too crowded! I had a patch of the creek all to ourselves for awhile so pup could play. Not much of an incline, if you’re hoping for true moderate, but you do weave through several different environments - wooded with winding paths, open with little tree cover, and near pretty rock formations!

Loved this trail! As another commenter mentioned, it is not well marked so make sure your phone is charged. The section along the river is exceptionally pretty- lots of rocks, a waterfall, and autumn colors!

August 1: Nice walk, but unless you’re holding the phone in your hand you’ll never find, or be able to stay on, the trail. There are many connected trails in the Chagrin Reservation area, most — perhaps all — are blazed, but without name signage, hence, make sure you start with a good battery. There are sections that would be very slippery (mud) after any significant rain and in some sections treacherous (long way to the bottom and not much to slow you down before you get there). There are sections in which you can hear road traffic, but mostly you just hear water. There are a couple of water falls along this section of the river and a groomed section of the trail runs beside the river. We didn’t walk that particular section because even with the phone in your hand you have to pay more attention than we apparently were...

Unattractive trail at least at this time of year. First half goes along a muddy bridle path within sight of Cannon and Solon Roads. Not very peaceful. Where it leaves the bridle path for the hiking trail is not marked--good thing for All Trails or I would not have known if I was still following the trail. One stream crossing otherwise the trail does not seem to get very near the water. Other reviewers are much more positive--wonder what I missed.

Beautiful hike to explore. Great to hike in the fall! Watch your footing though lots of roots.
