It’s been raining a lot lately so it’s super muddy. I love this hike. There’s both off trail and bike path options for almost all of it. I usually choose off trail because it gets into woods a lot more. Today I did both because right around the half way point in horseshoe lake park area it was so muddy I couldn’t walk without slipping. I do have to say my choice of footwear was not optimal so it was my own fault, but it was super muddy.

Nice walk through the old Shaker neighborhood with a little bit of nature sprinkled in along the edges of the lake. Was a bit difficult to follow the trail the whole way especially near the nature center

Nice walk! Love how everything is connected and you can get closer to the Lake. Shaker Lakes Nature Center is cool.

I would not come back. Not well marked and I don’t know how they get 3.8 miles out of this. As a riding trail not moderate but easy.

good for a leisurely hike and to admire the large homes nearby. the paved portion of the trail is older and too bumpy for reliable longboarding.

This trail is more of a neighborhood walking path with some beautiful views of the lake. There isn’t necessarily a marked trail, but because there are so many people out, you cannot get lost. If you cut in on the parallel trails that are closer to the lake, you get a little more of a hiking feel.

There is a large concrete dam where the trail and stream narrow between North Park and Fairhill boulevards, going west, as Doan Creek rushes down to University Circle.

Ok trail if your just looking for some light walking and exercise. The trail is nestled in the city of Shaker so if you're someone like me that likes places more off the beaten path this is not going to be the place for you.

This trail is not moderate, easy as can be. Almost all flat. It's a decent loop around the lake. You'll see a lot of wildlife and hear landscaping equipment at every turn. It's a nice inner city nature retreat though!
