Pretty Trail. A little bumpy in spots. Fairly flat, good for new hikers.
Nice trail, not very busy, but probably because I was out in the cold. I LOVED reading the signs about the old structures that used to be here!
Great trail to hike. Mixture of woods, prairie, and ponds. Can get a bit muddy, especially after a rain.
Great easy hike. Beautiful fall weather. Would be a great easy run also.
Excellent. Can’t wait to see it in the winter. Bathroom at the beginning. Not many ppl on trail. Peaceful.
Overall a nice change of pace from the other MetroParks with some cool surprises along the trail. Note the mapped trail here is a combination of several trail paths so don’t sleep on Orange.
Good trail. Not has much prairie as expected, but that’s a good thing. The remnants of the Argonne Forest Park (footbridge, pool, dance floor and streetcar) were a fun surprise.
Lots of different biomes and environments to hike. The small family cemetery was interesting to check out too.
my husband and I did this trail this afternoon. if you like wildflowers, go now! we saw beautiful ironweed and milkweed, sun flowers, cone flowers, Queen Anne lace, blazing star, chickot, bergamot, sweet pea, ready to bloom goldenrod, and tons of prairie dock. we even ate some wild berries, either black raspberries or small blackberries. trail is very flat and wee marked. take little side paths to a cemetery, bridge remains, an old swimming pool and even a dance floor.
Decent trail half prairie, half wooded with 4 small lakes. Several historical landmarks of an old state park (1920’s) along the way.
