A great trail around the pond. We saw Eastern Gray Squirrels, Eastern Chipmunks, and Yellow-Bellied Sapsuckers.
Parts of the trail were underwater, but there weren’t a lot of people. Beautiful day out.
Great paved trail, several decent inclines, excellent view of the lake. In the summer I’ve seen a ton of snakes near the lake, just be cautious. Perfect for running, walking and hiking. Restrooms are located in the parking lot at the beginning of the trail. In the winter months they have portalet available.
Nice gravel path along a loopy trail around several natural water reservoirs in Miami Whitewater Park.
Lots of leaves on ground. Was pretty busy this Saturday. Short and quick hike with nice views of ponds.
The Timberlake's loop has painted rocks along the trail that would be fun for kids to spot.
Nice short wooded trail that’s nestled in the bottom of the overlook with a lake and waterfall. Love the wooden bridge. You will encounter a small uphill part that will be sure to test your quads and glutes but nothing to hard to make.
I've hiked this trail numerous times. If the trail, Miami Shaker Trace, is considered moderate, then this trail must also be considered moderate. Of the four trails shown in Miami Whitewater Forest park, the Miami Shaker Trace trail is the easiest. Don't forget the Miami Shaker Trace is paved.
Quiet wooded trail with views of two ponds. The trail is well maintained. There are some hills but not too strenuous. During the summer you will see great blue heron, ducks, hawks, and occasionally a deer. Early in the morning you may catch a beaver or two hard at work. During the fall, keep an eye out for owls. I heard them all the time during the summer, but with the leave off the trees, spotting them is not so rare. As the leaves change you will enjoy brilliant red, orange, yellow, and purple. Someone asked me when is the best time to go on the trail and I told them, "Now" because every season brings its own solitude.
