Paved rail-trail in Eastern Ohio (5 miles) This paved rail-trail runs up the eastern edge of the Little Beaver Creek. The canopy of trees keeps the trail cool in the summer but can also keep snow and ice from thawing into spring. One of the more interesting features is period grafity, apparently carved in the rock by people who worked on the railroad nearly a century ago. Ultimately, the Little Beaver Creek trail will be part of the Great Ohio Lake-to-River Greenway, extending 100 miles along this abandoned rail corridor from East Liverpool on the Ohio river to Lake Erie near Ashtabula.
I cannot believe we are back on bikes after only a day of hiking. But it was a nice trail and easy.
A nice ride on a nice day. I loved the bridges, especially the covered bridge.
Best biking trail in the area. It is beautiful. There is a lot of shade. It is also great for running.
Absolutely loved it. Very scenic the first miles are swamp lands and some farms then you get into the hills and follow the river that is about 100' bellow you. We had a trailer with our kids so didn't feel safe going on the road that connects at miles 4 and 3 so we ended up with a 15 mile round trip which is a little short for us, but the scenery is awesome and well shaded.
There is a lot of swamp areas around the trail. I did enjoy seeing the train. However, not exactly a "nature" walk.
Can a trail be rustic...? Nice place to bike. Didn't go too far the first time I was there; can't wait to go back & trek out further.
Great hiking trails, watch out for horse poo :-) trails are shared! It's really rocky for Mountain Biking, most def. not for beginners! the camping is also really great! my dog loves to swim here!
Trail was beautiful. Really wouldn't consider it "hiking" though. Loved how it was right next to a railroad. The train going by was exciting!
