Beautiful scenery from old family homestead. Trailhead is in camping/picnic parking lot. When you first start out on the trail take a quick right up a steep hill. Visit the small cemetery at the top. Lots of history steeped in every step you take. Be careful of narrow trail areas when there are lots of fallen trees across it!

Lovely hike in the fall. Very low traffic, narrow trails, and some steep hills/inclines. Trail starts either near the lake or near the piney camping area. The cemetery is up a steep unmarked grassy hill to the right of the lake side of the trail .

HikingGreat!

Camped here with my nephew and brother-in-law a few weeks back. Nice scenic spot to camp. The trail was pretty decent. There were maybe four other groups of campers while we were there. The camp sites aren’t all that private. There’s some near the parking lot that are set back into the woods that allow for more privacy, but if you want to camp by the lake you have to sacrifice your privacy. The woods are thick, so be prepared to hike for a while before you can easily grab sticks for a campfire, or bring your own. I prefer backpacking and camping along the trail over any sort of camp ground, but this was a nice place. Could still hike the trail around the lake before setting up camp, like diet backpacking.

Fun little trail. Especially beautiful in the fall with all the Beech trees in full color. Camping is great too. We were the only campers there.

This trail was more difficult in some places than expected, especially on the long loop option which became close to 5 miles. The views were incredible and it is very isolated which I prefer. The only real problem was that we never found the graveyard :(
