What is with Ohio’s extreme antipathy to dog lovers?I would like to move back there but have grown used to Massachusetts’s friendliness to dogs. I know of no park that excludes dogs including the nearby 1000 acre state park. I occasionally pick up extra feces but the parks are clean for the most part.

Walking

Great length for an afternoon walk. Definitely wouldn’t call any of the paths here “hiking” paths; there’s hardly any elevation and all the paths and trails are very wide and clear. But for a casual stroll or just get into nature for a bit and escape the urban experience, this is a great place. Very clean and well maintained. All the unpaved trails link together in a very nice and well marked ring in the interior of the park, while the paved multipurpose trail skirts the outside. The inner trails are more interesting, in my opinion, and get you a little further from the hum of traffic and whatnot. You also get a nice variety of woods, sprawling meadows, tall grasses, and some water views. Surprising size and amount of diversity in a park in the midst of urban sprawl.

The portions in the woods and field were lovely. Overall, fairly lightly trafficked and nice walk.

we liked the scenic lake view and fishing docks. there was definitely some hills and felt like we were "lost in the woods" which we liked! a few badass moments!

A little too much “open fields” but some really nice wooded areas and short tracks along streams/creeks. Really nice walk with the family.

It’s a great trail, but it’s not dog friendly like it says. Only about half is dog friendly.

Disappointing hike. If you do this trail with your dog you can only do about half of the AllTrails map. Limited dog friendly trails......Spring Creek Trail, Lake Trail, and pathways allow dogs. The Edward Thomas, Connector Trail and Multi-purpose Trails are off limits to dogs.

Trail was very maintained. There are some views of meadows and a creek. Lots of birds, chipmunks and squirrels. Spring wildflowers are in bloom!

Super flat. Did 3 miles instead of 4 trying to avoid the paved multi trail but the path near the lake is paved too.

A nice run but in no sense “moderate.” It was easy, mostly paved. I was hoping for more of a challenge.

It’s only 3.8 mile trail not 4.2. Also, you can have dogs on a leash anywhere but on the trails which is pretty dumb to me. Park itself is beautiful though

I would recommend this trail for anyone looking to have a bit of a push but nothing strenuous. It is a great loop and I got over 10,000 steps on the 4.2 miles. Very scenic and quiet.
