NOTE: As of July 2020, users have reported that there are several trail closures in this area due to blowdowns and storm damage. Notably, the Gorge Trail is closed for repairs in the section beyond Mary Campbell Cave. The upper part of the trail is also closed due to blowdown. Please check with the park for more information and updates. Gorge Trail provides access to Mary Campbell Cave, an easy half-mile walk from the parking lot. At the start of the trail, a short (half-mile, round trip) section earns accessible status and is good for users with wheelchairs, walkers, canes and strollers. The trail quickly becomes more rugged as it passes through stunning rock-ledge formations. An upper section of the trail is even considered "primitive".

Free parking, picnic areas, restrooms, drinking water (seasonal)

on the upper trail beyond Mary Campbell cave, the trail proceeds but it is difficult to know if there is going to be a turning point. looking down you can see what looks like good trail but is it? ended up walking back and going down the stairs to the falls where the trail below is clearly marked closed. I'm glad I turned around when I did. otherwise the rocks the trees everything is spectacular.

Beautiful trail but large chunks of it were closed off and the occasional sewage smell was not pleasant

Trail was easy. Great for beginners. The more difficult parts of the trail were closed off. This is a good trail for an afternoon hike.

difficult terrain. Smells of sewage. Many false trails. Part of trail closed. Detours were confusing. Beautiful scenery..

I was on a bit of a time crunch and forgot my shoes. I plan on coming again to walk the closed areas. Looked like it was mostly debris on those trails.

Nice set of trails when linked together. Ignore trail closed signs unless you can't handle a little dead fall and short rock scramble. Nothing wrong with Gorge deck near falls.

Cool trail, but part of it by the falls (arguably the best part) and further down was closed (both boardwalk - probably needs repairs).

I both liked and disliked this trail. The rock formations and small streams were pretty cool. This would be an awesome autumn hike. However the loop is incomplete there are places that are just impassable. The gorge views were awesome and if your willing to hop the fence the boardwalk to the falls is worth it.

Trail needs maintenance. A lot of trail dead end closures due to fallen trees and rock slides. Nice view of being by the river, but up keep is needed to get this trail back to its prime.

The back primitive part has some mud and a few downed trees but is passable. A gorgeous trail featuring awesome ledges and rock formations, as well as lovely views of the river below. The dam boardwalk is closed due to COVID.

Multiple sections of trails were blocked off. Lots of trash throughout. Also, be aware of pockets of strong odors...

Great trail. Even though the lookout is “closed,” you should go under/over the sign to get a good view of the falls. We passed a park ranger on the closed part of the trail and he didn’t even acknowledge that we weren’t “supposed” to be there. Just said have a nice day. Don’t let this deter you.

I wish I could give this a higher rating, but with the sections that are closed it makes it difficult to do so.

Had a great time. Found the old trickling waterfall and had a good twenty minutes of peace there before finding my way into a couple of deer that followed me a bit and seemed interested in my dog. Great time!
