County Line Trail is a 6.8 mile lightly trafficked point-to-point trail located near Creston, Ohio that features a great forest setting and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for walking, running, and road biking and is best used from March until November. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
From about the 2.4 mile to 3.4 mile mark this trail follows along Atlantic Avenue without a designated bike lane or sidewalk. Wearing bright colors and using lights and flags is always recommended for personal safety when sharing space with motor vehicles. There are several other road crossings along the way. Cross safely and enjoy being out on the trail! Accessibility: This asphalt trail is estimated to typically be at least 7 feet wide. There are barriers in the middle of the trail in some locations near road crossings cutting the width in half for a short moment. The slope is estimated to be flat to gentle and range from -2% (downhill) to 1% (uphill) grade. There is not ADA-compliant car parking at the trailhead. There are 4 ADA-compliant car parking spots with 2 shared access aisles at the small paved lot at the 2.4 mile mark, marked here with a waypoint.
The trail is maintained by Wayne County Rails to Trails. http://www.waynecountytrails.org/

Not my favorite trail, but super functional. Started at crestville, couldn’t find the parking lot—it’s the gravel lot to the SOUTH of the police station—no water, one portopot about 2 miles in. The road portion is hot and sunny, but not unsafe. There’s a railroad track that follows the path the whole way, and this is only rural. Probably better to bike. No water on the path, make sure to pack your own.
Pretty straight forward trail which runs parallel to train tracks between Creston and Rittman. Offers a paved surface to get out with your road bike and not have to worry about traffic. There is a short section of the trail which you share with the road but not a main street so car traffic is minimal. Peaceful farmlands with a few benches along trail to take breaks should you desire.
The County Line Trail is an easy path for bikers, runners, and walkers. Most of the trail is paved, only a short section in Sterling overlaps with the road. There are parking lots at the trailheads in Creston and Rittman, as well as two lots in Sterling, which is about the middle of the trail. I usually start in Sterling and alternate between going towards Creston or Rittman.
