A great fall hike with several nice views, including the top of a firetower and a lake. Park on Forest Rd 6 where the backpack trail crosses. Follow the backpack trail, crossed Rd 6 again, and go down to where it connects to the Hobey Hollow bridle trail. Follow the bridle trail north to Rd 6, just east of the Copperhead Firetower. Then walk along Rd 6 west until you can follow the bridle trail north to Bear Lake and head south back to the Rd 6. From there, road walk a short distance and pick the backpack trail up again and head back to the car.

This is a great hike to take in 2 great scenic spots in one day. There is a little more elevation gain on this route than some others, but it wasn't terrible. I look forward to doing this again in the future.
