Clarence J. Brown Reservoir Lakeview Trail is a 3.9 mile lightly trafficked out and back trail located near Springfield, Ohio that features a lake and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, camping, and nature trips and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
This is the main trail at Buck Creek. It follows the lakeside and goes past the cabins and leads to the campground area. It’s a very wide trail until you reach the cabins area. Lots of people fish off to the side of the trail. Great views can be had year round. Nice trail for small children as there are plenty of gravel beds to explore. Flat.

Directions from Milford, OH: Travel east on State Route 131 for 8 miles. Bear left on SR 727 and proceed 3 miles to the park entrance. Travel past the park office looping right on Lake Drive. A small picnic area with trailhead parking is visible along Lake Drive.
Mostly ok, the trails are nice but the rest was sloggy, walking train tracks, sludgy highway refuse, and then the flat boring bike trail the last few miles (not to mention scrambling around the rocks by the beach to do that section)
Warm easy trail. went for 3.9 miles and kept going. We would definitely recommend parking at the marina and going the other way.
I loved this hike. I definitely recommend starting at the other end for parking. The trail was very easy to follow. Despite other reviews the tag was not bad at all.
Not bad but not great. There was trash visible but not on the actual trail itself since that seems to be the trend with the reviews. Lake views were pretty cool and trail had a lot access points to the beach and/or lake. You do walk by and through quite a few camp sites/cabin areas and picnic areas. The starting point has you parking at the camp site "Shower House Parking Only Limit 30 Minutes" lot so be aware of that during peak camping season. There were no campers today so parking there was not an issue. There are a few more public spots around the corner at the camp office. The better option would have been parking in the huge lot at the boat docks at the endpoint of this trail.
This has to be the absolutely trashiest State Park I’ve ever been to. You can’t go 10 yards without seeing a beer or pop bottle. Seriously, next time I will bring a trash bag with me. It’s gross. Pretty good trail, but a little boring in the winter.
Out and back along the lake side. trail starts at the Marina and goes up passed the campground. when you get to the RV area it's not clear where the trail goes. Followed the lake edge on a smaller trail which lead back to the main one. We walked from G to J. being almost winter there was plenty of parking and very little trash around, problems mentioned by other reviewers. Lots of beautiful views of the lake.
I was fully prepared to give this a 1-star rating but after doing some thinking, it has it's uses. Strictly as a visitor and not as a camper at the campgrounds, avoid this for two main reasons. First, there is zero parking. The AllTrails app takes you to the showerhouse parking lot which has signs posted of a maximum of 30 minutes allowed for parking. There is a parking lot several miles before you get to the showerhouse but there is zero parking here if you are not camping. Second, the trail literally starts in someone's campground. I had to apologize for walking around the lovely people who were camping there and explain I was trying to get to the trailhead. Now, if you are already camping here, then this trail would make for a great day trip as there is a beach half a mile in that you could spend the day at. There was quite a bit of trash along the trail due to the campgrounds and there isn't much to see besides listening to the water as you hike alongside it. Could be great for an after work hike/jog, but the lack of parking and trailhead entrance location are deal-breakers for me.
Buck Creek State Park Trail is hard to find as it is behind the campground Easier place to park is at the other end of the trail with better point raking by the marina
Not bad, a little boring. Plenty of spots to stop and get your feet wet in the water. A lot of trash near the water, unfortunately.
Some places are well traveled and thus more open and accessible. Others are all but overgrown. Not an overly adventurous trail but it isn’t the worst trail. I’d say hit it if you’re already there or if you just wanna get some miles in. Be a good practice trail for new equipment or young hikers.
good trail , stayed overnight at campground, a little crowded , but was nice to take a shower before bedding down
