Nice level loop, easy hike. Bugs could be a problem at certain times of year
Great trail to see fall colors. We added the nature preserve loop as well.
Paved/chipped flat nice views of wetlands. Not much shade glad it was a cooler day. A nice traffic-free walk without much mud (easily skirted puddles in low spots) even after some heavy rains. Occasional benches. Bikes and walkers on Sunday- not too crowded.
Flat, mostly paved, moderate traffic and lots of sunshine. The path starts off of County Rd 50, with lots of parking and a bathroom at the trailhead, proceeds to buckeye woods on a paved trail along Chippewa Creek, and I circled the wetland at Buckeye Woods, added the nature preserve, and went back to the park. Except for the preserve the path was either paved or crushed gravel. I would recommend light tennis shoes or joggers. Lots of friendly faces, bikes, dogs, and larger groups with small children, especially by Buckeye Woods. Feels very secluded but you don’t have to work for it :) nice jaunt! Ended up close to 8 miles, but if you add the Buckeye Woods lake loop, you’ll hit and exceed 8 miles, easy!
Nice trail; the majority of it is paved and runs along Chippewa Creek and a reclaimed wetland area that is really nice. The trail is in good condition and wheelchair accessible, but there is very little shade available for a good portion of it. You can access dirt and crushed limestone trails at Buckeye Woods as well.
