This trail starts on the Buckeye Trail heading north. About a mile in, follow the abandoned road past the Buckeye Trail turnoff and proceed down the hill. There are two stream crossings. Also be aware that horses have the right of way on the bridle trail.

just did the hike. I didnt see a single person on the trail and I loved hiking across the frozen creeks and over the hills.

Park at the Pine lane trailhead. Nice short hike with the dog. Bridge is collapsed on the Valley Bridle section so be prepared to get wet/muddy crossing creek. Easy creek crossing on Buckeye section but still may get a little wet.

There was a sign that the trial was closed a mile from the buckeye trail bc of river erosion. Hiked the buckeye trail head next to it instead.

This trail is definitely difficult for trail running (lots of roots, inclines, and a minor water crossing), but definitely worth it! This is my favorite trail in CNVP -- absolutely gorgeous.

We hike this trail regularly in order to get ready for trips out West. Usually don't see anyone else after the first mile. Nice hike!
