Very well maintained trail, great elevation changes and technical footing if you’re trying to go fast. Portojohn at the trailhead is closed currently for covid, but if you can hold it 4 miles, you’ll find a nice restroom and water at Boston station. Blue hen is very heavily trafficked since there is a lot of trailhead parking so be mindful of that. Great views of the river, some water crossings, and no bugs outside of crickets in early fall. IF YOURE ON THE PINE HOLLOW TO JAITE MILL TRAIL: IT IS FAR LONGER THAN 11+ MILES. IT WILL BE CLOSER TO 20. You can always turn around on the BT, but just be mindful for planning purposes.

I would barely rate this moderate, if not easy. It’s trail walking with a slight incline. It’s mainly shaded, decent amount of mud but nothing you can’t go around. I’m used to west coast hiking so this was nothing! Also you have to cross roads twice, i only did 7 miles of the trail but it was still a nice walk.

Awesome trail. My fav so far in Ohio. Should be rated medium though. Very small inclines and we’ll groomed. Mostly smooth conditions with just a few trees to jump over or squat under. There are many soft spots so I can see how it gets muddy the day after rain but with a couple days of sunshine is great. Because I was expecting a “hard” trail I prepped for 19-22 minute mile conditions. I will come back and trail this one. I was averaging 15:30 mile an hour walking. This will be a fun trail run. This trail is definitely worth the squeeze.

he was a great hike, little warm for me but the rain halfway through helped was a little muddier on the way back in the way out cuz of the rain so that's the Chipmunks squirrels turkeys think I saw a fox but too far away to be sure.

Last summer we did pine lane to Boston store and back. It was a nice hike. There is also another hike starting from pine lane you can do. Does anyone know the name of that trail? It veers off time the left a few miles in from the pine lane trail head.

Great trail. Not too muddy. Challenging inclines, but nice views.

We had a wonderful experience! It is quite muddy, so be prepared. The terrain is both challenging, and beautiful.

Incredibly (incredibly) muddy. The hills were great. I did point to point and actually ended up past the northern part of trail (jaite) ...I guess I was expecting to see a parking lot or trail head. Over 20 mi and 2800 vertical..some very pretty views and the time went by fast! The trail jumps onto the road several times so just be on the lookout for the blue markings on the trees.
