Gorge Overlook Trail to Cedar Falls back through Buckeye Trail to Old Man's Cave. The Gorge Overlook Trail [Red Blazes] skirts the rim of the Old Man's cave area to Rose Lake and then over to Cedar Falls. This is a nice trail with some hills and only one real steep part on the approach toward Rose Lake. Once you get down to the Cedar Falls parking lot you take the yellow blazes to Cedar Falls. Then from Cedar Falls you take the Buckeye Trail [Blue Blazes] back towards Old Man's Cave. There are many trees down from storm damage over the years where the trail has been re-routed to some very strenuous and almost completely vertical to go up new stairs. Trail was very busy with people today.

awesome views! took my dog with me and he loved it as well. cedar falls and old man's cave get really busy but the gorge part of the trail was very quiet. would definitely do again! parking lot was fairly empty around 8:30am but at the end of the hike the place was packed.

Beautiful chilly spring day to enjoy this trail. The first half getting to cedar falls wore us out so taking the overlook trail on the way back was a nicer relaxing walk.

Loved it! It was all I could do to keep my kids out of the water. What a great park and nice hike. The water falls were so awesome.

One of the best combined loop trails to take while in the Hocking Hills area.

Whether you begin with the Gorge Overlook trail from Old Man's Cave, or start with the Buckeye Trail from OMC, the route begins with a nice, flat scenic hike. From about the middle of either trail, elevation comes into play with some fairly steep, curving inclines and long, slow elevations, which peak around Rose lake and come back down as you head to Cedar Falls.

The trail offers a wide range of views both from above the gorge, and while down in the valley. It's a favorite hike of mine because the degree of difficulty varies from all ranges of a nice, easy walk, through to tough incline trails. It also gives you a real sense and feeling of all the life and soul of the Hocking Hills area, and is an incredible break from the hustle and bustle of life for a few hours.

The trail is both kid and pet friendly, as we often take our dog and kid with us. Get out and enjoy it!

Excellent trail. Parked at the southwest corner of the trail around 9 am. Just a few cars. When we got back around noon the entire parking lot was madness! Get here early!

The beginning and end were great, but the 2 mile hike in between was just okay.

Awesome hike on a day where it rained for 12 hours before the hike. The waterfall were very impressive and they were everywhere. Trail was not too muddy and passable down to Cedar Falls even with the heavy rains.

This is just Grandma Gatewood minus Ash Cave Trail. We set out to do the entire thing this time, but it was muddy and slippery in spots, so we tired out and decided to complete Ash Cave, which we saw last time.

This is still one of my most favorite trails. It's so much fun and a great work out with the most amazing views. I love Cedar Falls. They are beautiful this time of year.

Absolutely beautiful! The sandstone is an amazing sight to see! Bird watching can be difficult, as for the hemlocks are very tall and hard to see the smaller birds.

Beautiful hike. Multiple waterfalls, a lake, and loops the entire way so you don't have to see the same thing twice.

A recommendation from a neighbor. Beautiful during July, just rained so the trails were a bit slippery from mud. Walked 7.5 miles in flip-flops, but stayed on the marked trails. A lot of the points of interest can be driven to with short to semi short trail walking if you have people with you that can't hike long distances. My husband, dog, and I will be back!

One of the best trails in Ohio. hiked with my girlfriend after setting up camp in the park. A mostly easy trail, but can be semi-challenging at times, depending on conditions. Connects to other trails to be as challenging or easy as you desire. Either way, great views the entire trip!

One of the best, well maintained parks I have been to for Hiking. By far the best in Ohio. Family friendly, amazing sites, swimming holes, water falls, cliffs, caves, clean air, cabins with hot tubs, zip lining, and lots of trails.

***My review below was for Old Man's Cave (proper name??) which was about a 1/2-1 mile long, easy, trail.

Gorgeous trail that loops low into the ravine and back up through the forest. Get to pass through some rocks that make you feel like you're in a cave for a few secs! Interesting history and beautiful picture opportunities. Can be a little crowed (on weekends especially) since it is a fairly easy trail. Not handicap friendly, however, which is a huge bummer. Even too difficult with tree roots for a person who needs a cane due to a stoke. BUT! Scenery is gorgeous enough to just hang and enjoy!
